Bulldog Threes Bury Cards

Truman State men's basketball, known as an aggressive three-point shooting team, lived up to the scouting reports as the Bulldogs hit 13 three-pointers on the way to a 93-68 win over the Cardinals Thursday in Kirksville, Mo.

The Bulldogs (13-5, 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference) took 71 shots in the game, 32 of them from behind the arc, and shot 52% for the game.  By comparison, Jewell (7-9, 3-5) hit 43% of their shots, and only five from the three point line.

Patrick Whelen led Cardinal scorers with 19 points.  Jordan Lewis had 11, and Christian Hildebrandt and D'Vante Mosby each had nine points.  Muusa Dama, making his first start as a Cardinal, had seven rebounds to lead Jewell.

Truman outrebounded Jewell 38-34, and had a 48-39 advantage at the half.

William Jewell continues on their GLVC road trip Saturday, taking on Quincy University at 3:00 p.m.
