Truman State men's basketball, known as an aggressive three-point shooting team, lived up to the scouting reports as the Bulldogs hit 13 three-pointers on the way to a 93-68 win over the Cardinals Thursday in Kirksville, Mo.Â
The Bulldogs (13-5, 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference) took 71 shots in the game, 32 of them from behind the arc, and shot 52% for the game. Â By comparison, Jewell (7-9, 3-5) hit 43% of their shots, and only five from the three point line.
Patrick Whelen led Cardinal scorers with 19 points. Â
Jordan Lewis had 11, and
Christian Hildebrandt and
D'Vante Mosby each had nine points. Â
Muusa Dama, making his first start as a Cardinal, had seven rebounds to lead Jewell.
Truman outrebounded Jewell 38-34, and had a 48-39 advantage at the half.
William Jewell continues on their GLVC road trip Saturday, taking on Quincy University at 3:00 p.m.
