The William Jewell College men's basketball team started off the new year with a conference road trip. Friday, the Cardinals faced off against the Southern Indiana Eagles, losing 86-48. This drops the Cardinals to 5-5 on the season, and 1-1 in GLVC play.

The Eagles jumped out early going on a 25-6 run, and did not let up, leading 46-21 at half.

The Cards had trouble finding their shot all game going 18-61 (29.5%) from the field, with 3-16 (18.8%) beyond the arch.

Clint McCullough both lead the team in rebounds, with 6 a piece.

The Cardinals travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to take on Bellarmine University on Sunday, Jan. 4. Tip-off is set for 3:15 p.m.
