The William Jewell College men's basketball team dropped their third straight contest against #5 University of Indianapolis Greyhounds 92-54 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Thursday night at the Mabee Center. The loss drops Jewell to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in GLVC play on the season. UIndy is still undefeated with a record of 12-0 (4-0 GLVC).
The Greyhounds started the game on a 21-to-5 run, and they built a steady lead throughout the half, going up 48-20 at the end of the first. UIndy held Jewell to only 21 percent from the field in the first half.
In the second half, the Greyhounds outscored the Cards 44-34 as Jewell did improve to 43 percent shooting in the second half.
Jordan Lewis lead the team in points scored with 12, and
Emil Ostafiiciuc and
Clint McCullough both had 6 rebounds apiece to lead the team.
Joe Lawson and Salim Gloyd scored a game high 18 points a piece for the Hounds.
The Cardinals next contest puts them up against Saint Joseph's College on Saturday, January 10. Tip-off is slated at 3:00 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
