The William Jewell College volleyball team fell to 8-22 overall and 2-15 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, after dropping a three-set contest at Truman State Friday night by scores of 25-22, 25-7, 25-21.
The Bulldogs dominated much of the match hitting .359 as a team, with 39 kills and just six errors. Jewell meanwhile, hit just .046, totaling 27 kills while committing 22 errors. Truman State also outserved and outblocked the Cardinals with eight aces, and blocks while Jewell posted just four aces, and two blocks.
Defensively however, the Cardinals trailed by just four total digs as they posted 44 as a team. A well balanced defense, Jewell had five players posting at least six digs, led by sophomore
Codi Winslow with ten and
Alix Weigel with nine.
Offensively, freshman
Raechel Meisinger led the Cardinals with a .273 attack percentage, on nine kills and just three errors.
Kaylee Marquardt followed by five kills, and
Madeline Johnson with four.
Stefanie Richterkessing posted 16 assists.
The Cardinals finish the 2015 season tomorrow at Quincy as they take on the Hawks at 3:30 p.m.
