The William Jewell College baseball team used two dominant innings to shutout Newman University 10-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Talley Stadium on the Jewell Campus in Liberty, Mo.
The Cards put up 6 runs in the fourth on only three hits. Newman committed two errors and walked and a hit a batter which aided the Cardinals effort.
Jewell then put up four runs in the bottom of the eighth to produce the winning 10 run margin.
Tim Miller (1-1) earned the win tossing 7 innings giving up three hits and one walk while striking out three.
Bryan Rezin was 2-5 with two RBI's and two runs scored.
The Cardinals (10-3) will resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a four game series in Romeoville, Ill., on Saturday and Sunday against Lewis University. First pitch is set for 12:00 p .m. both days.
