The William Jewell College track & field teams competed this past weekend at the Wendy's/PSU Invite hosted by Pittsburg State University and was represented by two individuals at the Ashley Nally Heptathlon/Herschel Neil Decathlon hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.

Blake Alexander placed second in the 110 Hurdles with a season best and provisional qualifying time of 14.51 seconds. Â Alexander is currently ranked First in the GLVC and 15th in NCAA-II. Â Blake also placed 7th in the 400 Hurdles with a season best time of 55.93 seconds.

Jessica Goldsberry placed second in the 400 Meters with a time of 58.51 seconds.

Isaac Mattis placed fourth in the Pole Vault with a personal best mark of 4.31 meters (14' 1.75").

Lainey Foltz and Liria Gutierrez competed in the 3000 Steeplechase and placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Â Both women ran personal best times with Foltz posting 12:13.96 and Gutierrez 12:23.45.

Lizzy Stevenson placed 5th in the 5000 Meters with a personal best time and freshman record of 18:36.96.

In addition to these finishes, the Cardinal teams combined for a total of 16 personal best times or marks and 9 season best performances.

Julia Parker and Margaret Perko competed at the Ashley Nally Heptathlon/Herschel Neil Decathlon at Northwest Missouri State University. Â Perko placed fourth overall (4643 pts.) and Parker finished tenth (3510 pts.). Â Perko's score is a provisional qualifying mark and currently ranks her 9th in NCAA-II. Â That mark is also a new Jewell record breaking the previous mark of 4398 points set by Sarah Shippy on April 14, 2011 at the ESU Multi Events.

The Cardinals will compete again this Friday, April 3 at the Northwest Open hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
