The William Jewell College baseball team dropped a tough 6-5 contest over the University of Missouri-St. Louis Sunday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo.
The Cards lost the Great Lakes Valley Conference series losing three of the four over the weekend and slipped to 24-9 and 15-7 in the GLVC.
Jewell led 5-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth. An error to start the inning sparked a three-run Triton rally that produced the 6-5 winning margin.
Bryan Rezin went 1-4 including a two run homerun in the first while
Jared Patton finished the day 2-4 including a solo homerun in the eighth inning.
Nick Farleigh pitched seven innings giving up seven hits and three runs.
Dylan Pollock (3-1) took the loss as he surrendered three hits and three runs (none earned) in an inning of relief.
The Cardinals will return home to take on Rockhurst University in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m.
