The William Jewell College men's basketball team dropped their fourth straight contest falling 79-63 on Saturday at University of Illinois-Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.  Jewell falls to 5-9 overall and remain winless 0-6 in the GLVC.  UIS improves to 7-9 and earned their firs GLVC win of the year and are now 1-5 in league play.
It was another tale of two halves for Jewell as the Cardinals shot 50 percent from the field and built a seven point halftime lead. 
The tables were reserved in the second half as UIS used a strong second half run to tie things up at the 13:20 mark of the second half.  Once they took the lead they never let up.  The Cardinals shot a 9-31 in the second half and for the game Jewell was 5-23 from three-point land.
Patrick Whelan led the Cardinals with 16 points while 
Matt Lassen (14), 
Jordan Tanner (13) and 
Darius Tomlin (12) all finished in double figures. 
Jamaal Millison led all scores with 24 for the Prairie Stars.
The Cardinals will return home to face Rockhurst University on Monday January 19 at 7:30 p.m.
