The William Jewell College baseball team dropped the series finale, 2-1, at Cameron University on Sunday afternoon at McCord Field.  Strong pitching, coupled with just enough offense helped the Aggies earn a sweep in Jewell's first weekend series of the season.

The loss dropped Jewell to 0-4, while Cameron improves to a perfect 11-0. 

Cameron got on the board in the bottom of the fifth.  The Aggies got a one out single followed by two stolen bases and then another single with two outs to take a 1-0 lead. 

Jewell tried to get things going against Cameron starter Javarias Banks in the top of the seventh.  Andrew Miller led off with a single and then stole second base. 
After one out Matej Sucha came through with an RBI double but that was the only run the Cards could muster. 

The Aggies got the run back in the bottom of the inning off two Cardinal errors which produced the 2-1 final score. 

The Cameron bullpen did its work the rest of the way, only allowing two Jewell runners to reach base over the final two frames.

Brendan Beatty threw six innings for the Cardinals and recorded seven strikeouts and gave up five hits.  Garrett Smith took the loss for Jewell. Costello collected two hits and scored the CCSU run.

Garrett McKinzie led the Cards with two hits and Sucha had Jewell's only RBI. 

The Cardinals' next game will be on Friday, February 26, at Arlington Baptist in Arlington Texas at 12:00 p.m.
