The William Jewell women's track and field team fell two spots in day two of the Indoor Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships but still grabbed the highest finish since joining the league, placing fourth. Lewis took home the women's title, followed by Indianapolis, and Bellarmine. Lewis also won the men's championship.
During the second day of competition
Jessica Goldsberry finished third in the women's 400 meter run with a time of 57.71.
Gretchen Mayes grabbed a fourth place mark in the 55 meter dash, clocking in at 7.33, which broke her own school record that was set earlier this season. Mayes also had a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.67.Â
Senior
Margaret Perko took home a second team All-GLVC honor as she finished second in the women's 55 meter hurdles with a time 8.30.
In the pole vault,
Rachel Forrester also finished fifth with a 3.21 meter mark.Â
On the men's side junior
Blake Alexander won the 55 meter hurdles championship with a time of 7.50 which also ranks 14th nationally.
The men's 4x400 relay team, made up of Alexander,
Jannik Schueller,
Daniel Essien, and Graham Butcher, placed sixth, coming in at 3:28.48.Â
