Blake Alexander highlighted the weekend for the William Jewell indoor track and field teams as they participated in the Central Missouri Mule Relays on Friday (women) and Saturday (men) in Warrensburg, Mo.
Alexander took home top honors in the men's 60 meter hurdles clocking in at 8.26. Senior
Margaret Perko also excelled on the weekend, finishing second in the women's Pentathlon with 3352 points.
Julia Parker was directly behind Perko in third place with 3139 points.
Gretchen Mayes was the only Cardinal to earn two top five finishes as she was fourth in the women's 200 meter run (26.47) and fifth in the long jump.Â
Jessica Goldsberry also grabbed a third place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 59.85 while
Elaine Barella was fourth in the 800 meter run at 2:27.22.Â
On the men's side, freshman
Chris Wood placed fifth in the mile run, finishing in 4:24.90.
In the field events
Talia Zook and
Emmalee Hyde each grabbed a fifth place mark in the women's weight throw and shot put respectively.Â
Up next for the Cardinals is the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan. on February 12-13.Â
