Cardinal softball hosts Quincy University on Saturday and Truman State Sunday at noon, and Jewell students and fans attending the games will be treated to several different fan experiences during the weekend homestand.
In projects designed by Jewell students in Dr. Joshua Hoop's Organizational Communications class at WJC, promotions will take place at both doubleheaders.
Saturday's doubleheader against the Hawks will provide awareness and raise funds for Go4theGoal, who improve the lives of children battling cancer through financial support, developing and implementing hospital programs, and other unique efforts; activites on Saturday will include a silent auction, carnival games, the Kona Ice Truck, a K9 unit and SWAT vehicle among other attractions.
On Sunday against Truman State, Jewell students will be given free raffle tickets and major prizes will be given away, including a 32-inch television and Kansas City Royals gear.
Going into the weekend, Jewell holds the final playoff spot among the eight Great Lakes Valley Conference teams battling for the postseason, with Truman State tied for third; Quincy is a game behind the Cardinals in the standings.
