The William Jewell volleyball team swept their way through the 2017 Midwest Region Crossover posting two more 3-0 wins over Ohio Dominican and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals topped ODU 25-18, 25-20, and 25-12 followed by a victory over KWU by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-20.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SET ONE: The Cardinals jumped on top, using a 4-0 run, to take a 19-11 lead and never looked back. A kill from Jenna Rau gave Jewell the 25-18 win.
- SET TWO: Jewell came out strong once again, grabbing a 11-2 lead behind five consecutive kills. The Panthers pulled within 23-18 before kills from Paige Cunningham and Tori Vogt pushed the Cardinals to the 25-19 win and a 2-0 lead.
- SET THREE: The Cards used a 13-3 run to turn a three point lead to a 21-9 advantage. Four kills from four different players led to a 25-20 win.

- The Cardinals posted a season best .375 attack percentage with 51 kills on 104 attempts.
YOU SHOULD NOTE
- This is the second win over Ohio Dominican this season, after defeating the Panthers 3-0 at the Missouri S&T Tournament on September 8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SET ONE: Jewell came out firing taking a 21-10 lead. A service error gave the Cardinals the lead 25-18 win.
- SET TWO: The Cards led by as many as seven in set two on their way to the 25-19 win and a 2-0 lead.
- SET THREE: In the finale the two teams played even for majority of the set before a 7-1 run by the Cardinals, led by two kills from Rau put Jewell on top 19-11. The Panthers pulled within three at 23-20 before a kill from Madeline Johnson and a service error gave the Cards the sweep.
LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT
- Jewell again posted a balanced attack with Cunningham leading with nine kills followed by Stefanie Richterkessing with eight and Rau with seven.
- Weigel posted 16 assists and four aces while Megan Rhule added 19 and two respectively.
- Miller grabbed a game-high five blocks.
- Tolberd was tops for the Cardinals with 13 digs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Cardinals hit .283 with 43 kills on 105 attempts, while holding the Panthers to a .126 clip.
- Jewell collected eight aces and six blocks as a team.
