The William Jewell volleyball battled the No. 3 ranked team in the country Lewis but fell in straight sets 25-10, 25-23, 25-20. The loss drops Jewell to 5-12 overall and 2-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SET ONE: The Cardinals struggled early as the Flyers jumped out to a 13 point lead on their way to taking the opener 25-10. 
• SET TWO: Jewell held an early 10-4 lead only to see Lewis respond with a run to go on top 21-18. The Cardinals battled, pulling within 24-23 on a kill from Maddie Wingert but a Flyer kill ended the set 25-23.
• SET THREE: Jewell fell behind in the finale 18-12 before mounting a rally. The Cards pulled within 23-20 on a kill by Stefanie Richterkessing but the Flyers earned two consecutive points to finish the sweep 25-20. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• After a lopsided first set the Cards settled in and posted 12 kills in set two on a .109 attack percentage. 
• Jewell held the Flyers well below their season average .278 attack percentage as they hit just .188 on the night. 

LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT

• Paige Cunningham topped Jewell with eight kills, followed by Richterkessing's seven. 
• Jenna Rau posted a team best .188 attack percentage with four kills on 16 attempts. 
• Olivia Tolberd collected 13 digs while Richterkessing added 12.
