The William Jewell College football team traveled to Quincy, Ill., to take on Quincy University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action tonight. The Cardinals scored 31 unanswered points in the second half to rally for a 45-28 win. The Cardinals improve to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the GLVC. The Hawks fall to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1Q (6:15) The Cards struck first when quarterback
Brad Strauss connected from 27-yards out with
Keelon Vann and Jewell led 7-0 after the PAT.
1Q (1:30) The Hawks answered back with a 10 play drive that ate up nearly five minutes on the clock when Dylan Rosado rushed in from the one yard line and Quincy tied the game 7-7.
2Q (00:46) Quincy took their first lead of the game when Dominique Bobo rushed in from two-yards out.
3Q (14:10) Andrew Rund found Kody Wood a 64-yard touchdown and Quincy led the Cards 21-7.
3Q (11:55)
Chance Nelson rushed in from 10 yards to cut the lead to 21-14.
3Q (8:38) Bobo again found the endzone, this time from 12 yards out and Quincy would lead 28-14.
3Q (6:06)
Trejuan Mask scored the first of his three touchdowns and the Cards trailed 28-21.
3Q (4:08)
Dalton Dye connected on a 39-yard field goal and Jewell was within four 28-24.
4Q (13:37) Mask gave the Cards the lead for good rushing in from three yards out and Jewell led 31-28.
4Q (5:11) Mask scored his third touchdown from two yards out and Jewell took a 38-28 lead.

Bulla Graft closed the deal with an eight yard run that produced the final 45-28 score.
LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT
Mask led the Cards in rushing with 79 yards on 21 carries and three touchdowns.
Strauss dished out 258 yards passing and one touchdown while also rushing for 78 yards.
Thaddeus Glenn and
Kendall Spencer each contributed an interception on defense for Jewell.
Quayde Bauman led Jewell in tackles with 12 including three tackles for loss.
TURNING POINT
Trailing by four with under three minutes to play in the third quarter, Jewell's
Andrew Pence stripped Bobo of the ball and
Brock Geisz was able to recover the fumble and set Jewell up near midfield where they scored 9 plays later to claim the lead.

In the all-time series with Quincy the road team has won every game. The all-time series is now tied 3-3.
