The William Jewell College men's basketball team suffered their second straight loss falling 96-86 Saturday in Quincy, Ill.
The loss drops the Cards to 8-17 overall and 4-14 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while Quincy improves to 23-5 overall and 13-4 in league play.
The Cardinals took control of the first half thanks to hot shooting from beyond the arc as Jewell drained seven first half three-pointers and went into halftime leading 50-43.
The second half was a much different story. Jewell jumped out to a 12 point lead to start the second half only to see the Hawks step up defensively. Jewell led by five with just under ten minutes to play when Quincy held the Cardinals scoreless for a six minute stretch and then went on a 9-1 run to close the game in the final minutes. The Hawks had 10 steals in the second half and went 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final 30 seconds. Quincy also shot a blistering 60 percent from the field in the second half.
Senior guard

The Cardinals will close out the regular season when they host Rockhurst University for senior night on Thursday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m.
