Blake Alexander has earned the final Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor for 2017.
The senior posted a record showing at the prestigious Drake Relays, placing fifth with a time of 13.87 seconds which broke the Jewell record. This time also ranks first in the GLVC this season by more than a half second and is fourth among all NCAA II hurdlers.
This is the third outdoor weekly award of his career, as he earned the honor on April 11 of this season as well as March 31, 2016.
Alexander is also the two-time defending GLVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and looks to defend his title in the men's 110 and 400 hurdles this weekend at the GLVC Championships in Rensselaer, Ind. He is schedule to open with the 110 preliminaries at 3:50 p.m. on Friday.
