The William Jewell volleyball team dropped a road contest at No. 13 Drury, 3-0 on Tuesday evening by scores of 23-25, 17-25, 15-25. The loss moves the Cardinals to 10-20 overall and 5-12 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set One: The Cardinals came out strong against the 13th-ranked team in the nation, taking a 12-9 lead after a Lacey Albers ace and forcing a Drury timeout. The Cardinals maintained their lead until late in the opener as the Panthers went on a 5-0 run to take a 22-20 advantage that they would not relinquish.
- Set Two: Jewell again came out strong in the second set, trailing by just one midway through. Three service errors gave Drury a small cushion and the Panthers ended the set on a 5-0 run.
- Set Three: The Panthers' offense came alive in the finale set as the Cardinals struggled to get a stop, falling behind by as many as eight. A Raechel Meisinger kill ended the skid but Jewell scored just two more points and fell 25-15.

- The Cardinals hit .147 on the night with 28 total kills compared to Drury's .260 attack percentage.
- Jewell owned the net, posting eight blocks to just two by the Panthers.
