The William Jewell football team earned its first victory of the 2018 season by outscoring Southwest Baptist by the score of 14-10. The Cardinals improve its record to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

Antonio Wabanimkee was a played a major role in the Cardinals first GLVC win. Wabanimkee recorded 1.5 sacks on the game and seven solo tackles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 2Q (2:40) – A 13 yard touchdown pass from Will Schneider to Bulla Graft sent the Cardinals into the locker room with a lead. (7-0, Jewell)
- 3Q (10:37) – Southwest Baptist came out of halftime was able to knot the game up on its opening drive. (7-7)
- 4Q (11:41) – The Bearcats were able to split the uprights with a 19 yard field goal and take its first lead of the day. (10-7, SBU)
- 4Q (4:39) – Quarterback Will Schneider decided to keep the ball himself and scampered 10 yards into the end zone to bring the score back in favor of the Cardinals. (14-10, Jewell)

- Jewell was 1-for-2 on fourth down conversions.
