The William Jewell volleyball earned their second win in the past three games with a five-set victory over Quincy University by scores of 31-29, 15-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-11. With the win, the Cardinals move to 5-15 on the season and 2-8 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, while the Hawks drop to 8-10 and 2-8 respectively. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Set One: The Cardinals went on a 7-3, led by two kills from Paityn Hardison, to take a 17-13 lead midway through the opening set. The Hawks responded with a 6-1 run of their own to take a 19-18 lead. The final points of the opener went back-and-forth with the Cards staving off set point three times before back-to-back kills by Lauren Castaneda and Hardison capped the set 31-29. 
 
	- Set Two: In set two, the Hawks took control early, jumping out to a 21-12 lead and never looked back, taking the set 25-15. 
 
	- Set Three: The roles reversed in the third set with Jewell breaking open a 22-13 advantage capped by a service ace by Stefanie Richterkessing. The Hawks recorded a kill by setter Sara Rathbun but two kills from Hardison and an error by QU gave the Cards the set 25-14. 
 
	- Set Four: Neither team could break away in set four until a a 6-1 run by the Hawks gave them a late lead 22-17. Jewell recorded three straight kills, including two by Lily Johnson, climb within one, 22-21 but scored just once more, falling 25-22. 
 
	- Set Five: The Cardinals were in control for much of set five, turning a 4-4 game into a 11-4 advantage on seven straight points, led by two kills each from Johnson and Maddie Wingert. The Hawks battled back to trail by four but Rau sealed the set with a kill of the Quincy block to win 15-11. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
	- The Cardinals out-hit Quincy .234 with 67 kills, compared to a .223 clip and 64 kills by the Hawks. 
 
	- Jewell committed just one attack error in the third and fifth sets, hitting .429 and .344 respectively.

	- Rau fell just one kills shy of tying her career-high for second time this season and has averaged better than 2.6 kills per set over the past three games. 
 
	- Richterkessing's 28 digs is a career-high for the senior.
