With her tenth dig on Tuesday evening, senior
Stefanie Richterkessing became the fourth player in the past decade to became a member of the William Jewell volleyball 1,000 digs club. The Cardinals traveled in Missouri Western for the midweek non-conference matchup, falling 3-0, to drop to 5-17 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set One: The Cardinals fell behind by as many as nine early in the opening set before a kill by Paityn Hardison ended the Griffon rally. Jewell also got kills from Maddie Wingert, Lily Johnson, and Megan Rhule before Missouri Western took the set 25-13.
- Set Two: The Cards jumped out to an early lead 6-4, powered by two blocks by Lacey Albers. The Griffons responded with a 19-8 run to take a nine point advantage at 23-15. Kills by Hardisonand Jenna Rau stopped the skid but MWSU'sStephanie Doakended the set 25-17.
- Set Three: Jewell fell into an early hole and could not recover trailing by as many as 11 and falling 25-14.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Cardinals were held to an .061 attack percentage while Missouri Western hit at a .319 clip.
- Jewell posted 35 digs to the Griffon's 46.

YOU SHOULD NOTE
- Richterkessing becomes just the fourth player in over a decade, but the second member of the 2018 senior class to collect 1,000 career digs, joining teammate Olivia Tolberd.
- Tolberd, who is working back injury had three digs on Tuesday and is now just 23 from breaking Jewell's career record.
