The William Jewell men's basketball team held off a late push from Southwest Baptist to down the Bearcats 91-81 on Tuesday evening in Bolivar, Missouri. The win moves the Cardinals to 2-5 on the season while SBU falls to 2-3. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- 1st Half: The Cardinals fell behind by seven early, before going on a 16-2 run to take a 27-20 lead with less than six minutes remaining in the first half. SBU cut the lead to five but a jumper from Mason Alexander with 39 seconds on the clock gave Jewell a 41-34 advantage at the half.  
- 2nd Half: The Cardinals expanded their lead to as many as nine midway through the second half following a three pointer from Byron Harp before the Bearcats mounted a rally. SBU cut the lead to just one with under 10 minutes to play but Jewell connected on 11-of-12 free throws down the stretch to seal the 10 point victory.

	- The Cardinals forced SBU into 22 turnovers which led the 20 points. 
- SBU won the battle in the paint 26-16 and out-rebounded the Cards 28-24. 
- Jewell shot better than 48 percent from the floor and connected on 11 three point field goals.

	- Harp's 36 points is not only a career high but is the most by a Cardinal in a single game in the NCAA era. 
- After posting 34 blocks as a freshman Wiley has already collected 14 through seven games in 2018-19 and is now tied for 15th all-time in program history with 48 career rejections.
