The William Jewell women's basketball team hosted Avila University in the Mabee center on Monday night. The Cardinals were able to seal the victory with two late free throws from redshirt sophomore
Sydney Offield.
Kiara Bradley paved the way for Jewell, who moved to 5-4 on the year, with 15 points and a late game three-point shot to give head coach
Jill Slominski's squad the late game momentum.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 1st Period: Avila was able to jump out to an early five point lead midway through the opening period. Kalli Murphy responded with her presence underneath the basket, putting in two baskets in three possessions. The Cardinals led at the half by a score of 32-31.
- 3rdPeriod: Both teams began trading baskets and keeping the score within two points the entire quarter. The score was tied at 46 as the final period began.
