The William Jewell softball team opened the home portion of the 2018 season on Friday afternoon by hosting Southwest Baptist for a double header at the Spratt Sports Complex. The Cardinals dropped the opener 3-0 before earning a 8-0 run-rule victory in game two. Jewell improves to 8-2 on the season with the split.

T5: Southwest Baptist jumped on top first scoring two runs on three hits and an error in the fifth frame. (2-0, SBU)

B5: With two runners in scoring position Biondo lined out to left field but the ball was far enough to allow
