Box Score 2 The William Jewell softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Missouri-St. Louis on Monday afternoon by scores of 10-2 in five innings and 1-0 in 11 innings. The sweep drops the Cardinals to 20-16 overall and 7-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T1: Jennah Perryman put UMSL on top early with a solo home run to center field. (1-0, UMSL)
- T4: Another home run, a two-run shot this time, pushed the Jewell deficit to three. (3-0, UMSL)
- T5: The Tritons added two runs in the fifth on back-to-back RBI singles. (5-0, UMSL)
- T6: UMSL broke things open in the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits and two Cardinal errors. (10-, UMSL)
- B6: Sarah Lewis broke up the no-hitter and put Jewell on the board with a solo home run, her fifth on the season, just inside the left field foul pole. Kelsey Morgan followed with a single and advanced to second on an error before scoring on a hit by Brooke Bernard but the Cards could get no closer. (10-2, UMSL)
PITCHERS
Winning Pitcher: Carly Kingery (9-3) got the win, allowing just three hits, and striking out nine.
Losing Pitcher:
Taylor Friesen (0-1) took the loss, allowing eight earned run on ten hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T11: After 10 innings of scoreless softball, the Tritons got two hits in the 11th to score the only run of the game. (1-0, UMSL)

Winning Pitcher: Andee Tiffee (13-5) earned the win, working a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts.
Losing Pitcher:
Anna Biondo (8-8) suffered the hard fought loss, giving just one earned run and tying her career high with 10 strikeouts.
