The William Jewell volleyball team was swept at the hands of Truman State on Tuesday evening in Kirksville, Missouri. With the loss the Cardinals fall to 2-9 on the season and 0-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SET ONE: Jewell held a 14-13 lead midway through the opener but a 9-0 run by the Bulldogs made it 22-14. After a service error by Truman and a Maddie Wingert kill, the Bulldogs closed the set with three kills. 
• SET TWO: The Cardinals trailed just 13-10 before the Bulldogs rattled off 12 consecutive points to take the second set 25-10. 
• SET THREE: Jewell jumped out to an early 13-10 lead behind three kills from Wingert to open set three. Truman rallied to tie the set at 14 but kills from Paityn Hardison and Grace Baucom pulled the Cards back in front by three. Jewell could not hold the Bulldogs at bay as they were outscored 9-1 the rest of the way.

• The Cardinals managed just an .079 attack percentage, compared to a .333 clip by the Bulldogs
• Defensively Jewell played nearly even with Truman, posting 52 digs and four blocks.
