The William Jewell football team came close to winning its first game of the season on Saturday but a last second touchdown by Truman State sent the Cardinals to the 27-20 loss in Kirksville, Missouri. Jewell falls to 0-4 on the year and 0-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

- 2Q (9:30) – Truman State's Jaden Barr ran in it six yards to put the Bulldogs on top early. (7-0, TSU)
- 2Q (7:10) – Dalton Dye connected on a 35-yard field goal to put Jewell on the board and pull within four. (7-3, TSU)
- 3Q (7:24) – Anthony Pritzel scored his first career touchdown with a four-yard run to put the Cardinals on top for the first time in the game. (10-7, Jewell)
- 3Q (3:22) – The Bulldogs responded immediately with touchdown after traveling 65 yards on eight plays to retake the lead. (14-10, TSU)
- 4Q (12:45) – Truman State's Jordan Salima put the Bulldogs up by two scores with a four-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Major Walker blocked the point after attempt to keep it at a 10 point Truman advantage. (20-10, TSU)
- 4Q (11:12) – Will Schneider broke lose and ran 51 yards to the end zone and pulled the Cardinals within three with under 12 minutes to play. (20-17, TSU)
- 4Q (2:48) – After missing two field goals earlier in the contest, Dye responded by hitting a 34-yarder to tie the game at 20. (20-20)
- 4Q (0:27) – With under 30 seconds remaining, the Truman's Andy Satulla ran 18 yards to the end zone for the game winning touchdown. (27-20, TSU)
