The William Jewell volleyball team took a set off No. 13 Central Missouri but ultimately fell 3-1 on Tuesday evening. The Cardinals fell 5-9 on the season. 

How it Happened

• Jewell battled in the opening set until the Jennies went on a 9-0 run to pull away winning 25-15. 
• With the score tied at seven in the second set the Cardinals won six of the next eight points, behind four kills from Tori Vogt. UCM rallied to pull within one at 20-19 before committing four errors pushing Jewell to the win. 
• The Cardinals fell into a 20-8 hole in the third set before a kill by Paityn Hardison ended the skid but UCM took the set 25-12. 
• Jewell trailed by as many as six in the finale before falling by a final of 25-19. 

For the Cardinals

• Vogt collected a match-high 14 kills followed by Maddie Wingert's 13. 
• Lauren Castaneda dished out 22 assists and finished with two aces. 
• Defensively, Kennedy Ruckh posted a game-high 22 digs while Elizabeth Quinn finished with six blocks and Lily Johnson four. 

For the Jennies

• Sydney Lierz (14), Hannah Engelken (13), and Audrey Fisher (11) gave the Jennies three in double figures in kills. 
• Ally Offerdahl collected a match-high 45 assists. 
• Abby Skrastins finished with 21 digs while Offerdahl added 16.
