The William Jewell volleyball team ran into one of the nation's hottest teams on Friday night as they fell 3-0 to Missouri-St. Louis. The Tritons entered the game at 13-1 overall and wasted little time showing why. With the loss the Cardinals fall to 5-10 overall and 1-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

How it Happened

• Jewell fell into an early 12-3 hole in the opening set and fell 25-11. 
• The Cardinals had their best set of the match in set two, challenging the Tritons point-for-point. Tie at 18, UMSL scored three straight to create just enough separation for the win. 
• UMSL again gained a big lead in set three before the Cardinals rallied. Jewell pulled within 23-19 but the Tritons got two kills to take the match.

For the Cardinals

• Paityn Hardison and Maddie Wingert led the Cardinals with seven kills each. 
• Elizabeth Quinn and Jessica Jacobs were tied with a match-high four blocks. 
• Kennedy Ruckh added 15 digs to lead the defense. 

For the Tritons

• UMSL put three in double-figures in kills led by Charlotte Richards' 17. 
• Kaileen Herman collected a match-high 44 digs while Megan Woll had 23 digs.
