The William Jewell volleyball team defeated Malone in four sets to win their third consecutive match and sweep day one of the Midwest Region Crossover. The Cardinals to move 9-12 on the season with the win. 

How it Happened

• Jewell jumped out to a 12-6 in the opening set after a kill from Lily Johnson. The Pioneers pulled within three but then the Cardinals outscored MU 11-9 the rest of the way. 
• Jewell fell into an early hole but rallied to tie the set at 12. Tied again at 23, Malone got two kills to take the set. 
• Led by two kills from Maddie Wingert, Jewell pushed out to a  10-4 lead in the early part of set three and did not look back, winning 25-17.
• Tied at 10 in the finale, the Cardinals went on a 7-2 run highlighted by kills from Wingert, Johnson, and Tori Vogt to take a 17-12 advantage. Jewell closed the set by outscoring the Pioneers 8-3 to win 25-16. 

For the Cardinals

• Paityn Hardison led the Cardinals with a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs to go along with four blocks. Wingert added 12 kills on a .429 attack percentage. 
• Lauren Castaneda led the offense with 15 assists while Harper Auman added 10. 
• Kennedy Ruckh finished with 24 digs while Mary Booton added 10.

For the Pioneers

• Brooklyn Sullivan finished with 10 kills to lead Malone. 
• Sydney Black led the Pioneer defense with 19 digs while Faith Lau added 14.
