The William Jewell volleyball team dropped their finale of the Midwest Region Crossover on Saturday by a final of 3-1 to Lake Erie. The loss drops the Cardinals 9-13 on the season.

How it Happened

• The first set was a back-and-forth affair with neither team able to claim more than a two point advantage. With the Cardinals leading 22-20, the Storm scored five of the next six points to steal the win. 
• Jewell fell into a 12-5 hole to open the second set and could not recover. 
• In the opposite of set two, it was the Cardinals who jumped out on top 19-10 behind three kills from Lily Johnson on their way to a commanding 25-13 win. 
• After falling behind by five, Jewell 12-5 run hold a 14-12 lead after a kill by Maddie Wingert. Lake Erie responded with a 10-4 run of their own pull ahead 22-18 and go on to the win. 

For the Cardinals

• Wingert led the Cardinals with 11 kills. 
• Lauren Castaneda collected 19 assists while Megan Rhule added 17. 
• Kennedy Ruckh led the defense with 21 digs. 
• Johnson, Elizabeth Quinn and Lacey Albers each finished with four blocks

For the Storm

• Courtney Rosebrook collected a game-high 16 kills while Taylor Metzler added 11. 
• Morgan Briggs finished with 18 digs while Rosebrook had seven blocks.
