The William Jewell volleyball team struggled to find an offensive rhythm on Saturday as they hit just .096 and fell in three sets at Quincy University. The Cardinals fall to 10-16 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
How it Happened
- Set one was a back-and-forth battle for most of the way until four Cardinal errors allowed Quincy to pulled ahead 21-17 on their way to a 25-21 opening win.
- Jewell got off to a solid start in set two, taking a 6-1 lead behind two kills from Tori Vogt. The Hawks came roaring back, going on a 10-5 run to take a 16-11 lead and did not look back.
- Tied at 10 in the third set, Quincy went on a 12-2 run to hold a commanding 22-12 advantage. The Cardinals got two kills from Grace Baucom late but could not overcome the early hole.
For the Cardinals
- Vogt led the offense with eight kills with Lauren Castaneda dishing out 17 assists.
- Kennedy Ruckh finished with a match-high 18 kills, including 11 in the opening set.
For the Hawks
- Three players all finished with 10 kills to lead Quincy with setter Makayla Knoblauch handing out 40 assists.
- Sarah Blair totaled a team-best 13 digs and two service aces.

Jewell returns to the confines of the Mabee Center next week for a three-game home stand, the last one of the season. The Cardinals host Missouri Western on Tuesday for their final non-conference contest of the year.
