The William Jewell volleyball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday but fell in straight sets to Indianapolis by scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-19. The Cardinals drop to 11-18 overall and 4-9 in league action.
How it Happened
- Jewell grabbed an early lead thanks to errors from the Greyhounds but the visitors rallied and went on a 10-3 run and take a 20-16 lead. The Cardinals got as close as 22-18 after a kill from Paityn Hardison but an error ended the set.
- The Greyhounds got their offense going early the second set, grabbing a 10 point lead and not looking back, winning 25-11.
- Set three was tight until a late 4-0 spurt from UIndy gave the Greyhounds a lead from which the Cardinals could not recover.
For the Cardinals
- Kennedy Ruckh totaled a game-high 20 digs to lead the Cardinals while Megan Rhule dished out 15 assists.
- Hardison's eight kills led the offense.
For the Greyhounds
- UIndy got 11 kills each from Taylor Jacquay and Hannah Huppenbauer.
- Setter Alyssa Spears finished with 45 assists and five kills
