The William Jewell men's basketball team downed Missouri S&T 98-85 on the road on Thursday evening to move to 12-17 on the season and 6-11 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. 


HOW IT HAPPENED

• 1st Half: Jewell jumped out to an early 8-2 lead after a three by Mason Alexander just under two minutes into the game. The Miners responded and took the lead on a jumper from Jalen Myers with 10 minutes left in the opening half. The Cardinals went back on top and closed the period on 19-10 run capped by a layup from Keith Hayes to take a 48-39 advantage into the locker room. 
• 2nd Half: The Cardinals maintained their edge and eventually pushed the lead to as many as 19 after a Miner turnover which led to a dunk by Pharroh Gordon on the other end. Jewell took their biggest lead of the day in the final five minutes of play as Jackson Golightly's three pointer put the Cards on top by 26.
