The William Jewell men's basketball team snapped a four-game skid with a 110-90 win over Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Center. The Cardinals move to 10-15 on the year and 4-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• 1st Half: The Cardinals started off quickly, jumping out to a 28-15 lead after a three consecutive three pointers from Byron Harp, Eysan Wiley, and Mason Alexander with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half.  UIS rallied back to pull within five before Jewell closed the opening 20 minutes on a 5-0 run to hold a 52-42 edge at the intermission. 
• 2nd Half: Jewell extended their lead to 16 midway through the second half as Alexander hit another three. The Stars got as close as 75-85 late in the game but the Cardinals got triples from Nick Bradley and Jackson Golightly while taking advantage of multiple trips to the free throw line to finish with their largest advantage of the day in the final of 110-90.

• The Cardinals owned the fastbreak game, leading 32-14. 
• Jewell shot a sizzling 62 percent from the floor for the game, while also hitting 30 free throws.
