The William Jewell baseball team used a 9-1 win on the road to secure the three game sweep of Rockhurst University on Tuesday evening. The win improves the Cardinals to 15-19-1 and 9-21 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• T2: The Cardinals got on the board first on an RBI single to right by Mason Goade, scoring Christian Chalabi. (1-0, Jewell)
• T3: Jewell sent 11 batters to the plate in the third, scoring six runs on five hits. The reigning GLVC Player of the Week Tyler Murphy kick started the inning with a solo home run and also recorded a sac fly in his second at-bat of the frame. (7-0, Jewell)
• B5: The Hawks ended the shutout in the fifth, as Alex Van Pelt singled to center. (7-1, Jewell)
• T7: Nick Modrcin extended the lead to eight, with an RBI triple to right field before scoring on a wild pitch. (9-1, Jewell)
