The William Jewell football team suffered a 28-16 loss in the first road game of the season on Saturday at Lindenwood. The Cardinals made second half adjustments and did not give up a score after the break but fell to 1-2 on the year and 0-1 I Great Lakes Valley Conference play.  
 
How it Happened

• Lindenwood jumped out to an early 14-0 lead, scoring on their first two drives of the game. 
• The Lions extended their lead to 21 on a three yard quarterback run by Cade Brister. LU made is 28-0 after a seven-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. 
• The Cardinals got on the board as time expired in the opening half as Dalton Dye hit a 42-yard field goal. 
• Jewell scored on back-to-back drives as Will Schneider ran for 20-yards and 15-yards to the end zone. 

For the Cardinals

• Schneider led the offense with 178 yards passing to go along with 61 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. 
• Brad Dee rushed for 66 yards on 14 carries while Jalik Jaggwe added 83 yards on six receptions. 
• Brock Giesz and Antonio Wabanimkee paced the defense with 11 tackles each with Jack Gordon adding 10.  Giesz also grabbed a third quarter interception. 

For the Lions

• LU quarterback Brister collected 276 yards through the air with three touchdowns and a pick. 
• Dalton Grohler finished with 97 yards on 21 carries with Erik Henneman posting 106 yards and two scores on just four catches. 
• Drew Seers led the defensive effort with 12 tackles.
