The William Jewell men's basketball team outscored McKendree 43-40 in the second half but came one bucket short, falling 73-70. The Cardinals drop to 6-8 overall and 1-5 in conference play. 

How it Happened

• The two teams traded baskets for the first nine minutes before McKendree used a 16-8 run to open a nine point lead. A three by Robbie Hanson cut the lead to just three but the Bearcats responded with a triple of their own to hold a 33-27 lead at the break. 
• McKendree expanded their lead to 11 four minutes into the second half but a 12-3 Jewell run pulled them within three with 12:36 to play. The Cardinals pulled within three 10 times over the next 10 minutes before two free throws by Nick Bradley tied the game at 65. The teams traded buckets over the followed two minutes but McKendree converted four of six late free throws to secure their win. 

For the Cardinals

• Bradley scored a career-high 17 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, to go along with four assists and four steals. 
• Eysan Wiley added a double-double, his sixth of the season, with 23 points and 13 rebounds. 
• Hanson added 11 points, on 3-of-5 from three point land. 
• The Cardinals shot 43% from the floor and connected on 12-of-13 free throws. 

For the Bearcats

• Bryson Bultman posted 21 for the Bearcats while Logan Kohrmann finished with 20 and Nate Bethel 16. 
• McKendree shot 50% from the floor and won the battle of the paint 40-30.
