The William Jewell men's basketball team hung with one of the top teams in the nation for more than 25 minutes but ultimately fell 76-60 to Southern Indiana, who was receiving votes in the national polls. The loss drops Jewell to 6-9 on the season and 1-5 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
How it Happened
- Trailing by seven midway through the opening half, the Cardinals used a 17-5 run, capped by a three from Carter Olsen, to take a 29-24 lead. The Screaming Eagles closed the half with a run of their own, outscoring Jewell 9-2 over the final five minutes to hold a 33-31 advantage at the half.
- A layup from Eysan Wiley early in the second half but the deficit to two but USI used another 15-3 run to expand their lead to 14 just under five minutes later. Jewell got seven combined points from Kobe McKinley and Nick Bradley, over a span of 50 second to cut the USI lead to just six but the Cardinals could get no closer.

- Wiley led the Cardinals with 15 points while Bradley added 12.
- Wiley added nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
- Jewell grabbed 13 offensive rebounds which led to 14 second-chance points.
For the Screaming Eagles
- Mateo Rivera led five players in double figures with 14 points.
- Emmanuel Little posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- USI won the battle in the paint 42-30.
