The William Jewell men's basketball team suffered a 76-65 loss to Quincy University on Thursday night on the road. The Cardinals drop to 8-11 on the season and 3-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

How it Happened

• The Cardinals opened an early double digit lead behind eight points from Jackson Golightly over the first six minutes. The Hawks rallied to tie the game after a three by Tanner Stuckman with 6:43 remaining in the first half. Jewell closed the half on a 14-7 run, capped by Golightly's bucket to beat the buzzer to put the Cardinals back on top by seven at the half. 
• After back-to-back triples from Mason Alexander that put the Cardinals up eight, the Hawks went on a 21-12 run to take a 61-52 lead. A three by Nick Bradley with just over three minutes to play pulled Jewell within five but the Cardinals could get no closer. 

For the Cardinals

• Alexander led four Cardinals in double figures with 14. Eysan Wiley added 12, Bradley 11, and Golightly 10. 
• The Cardinals forced Quincy into 25 turnovers, leading to 23 points. 
• Jewell shot nearly 50% in the opening half, including 8-for-14 from three but cooled off in the second half, hitting just 33% from the field. 

For the Hawks

• Stuckman led all scorers with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Aziz Fadika also posted a double double with 10 points and 10 boards. 
• The Hawks shot 54% from the field and 42% from three point land.
