The William Jewell softball team is back on the road this weekend as they head to Rosemont, Illinois for the Lewis Dome Invitational where they will take on four opponents out of the GLIAC.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Jewell is coming off a 1-3 opening weekend at the Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament where they defeated Bemidji State but fell to Minnesota Crookston and St. Cloud State, who is now receiving votes in the national poll. Â
Ashlyn Sutton and
Emily Hoover shined on the weekend as the seniors hit .400 and .385 respectively. Hoover posted three doubles and two runs scored in addition to a team-best five hits.Â
THE SERIES
The Cardinals are 0-2 all-time opposite Grand Valley State and have one win over Purdue Northwest. Parkside is a team the Cardinals are very familiar with as the Rangers competed in the GLVC until last season. Jewell is 10-1 against UWP, including having won their last six meetings. This will be the first meeting with Saginaw Valley. Â
