INDIANAPOLIS, IND- The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that 4,014 student-athletes garnered GEICO Academic All-GLVC distinction for the 2019-2020 season, including 195 from William Jewell. The honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who maintain a 3.30 grade point average over the course of the academic year. 
 
Four Jewell teams set new program highs as women's soccer boasts 18 selections, followed by 17 from women's basketball, 12 from softball, and nine from men's track & field. Eight programs, including baseball, women's basketball, football, women's soccer, softball, men's track & field and cross country, women's track & field and cross country and volleyball all improved in their total number of selections from a year ago. As a department, Jewell improved its honoree total for the fourth straight year and the 195 selections is the most since 2016 when the Cardinals set a school record with 207 honorees. 
 
This year, 41 student-athletes are earning their second career honor, with 28 receiving their third selection, and 29 student-athletes are recognized as four-time honorees. Additionally, seven programs boasted 70% or more of their roster on the Academic All-GLVC list, led by women's basketball's 17 honorees which accounts for 90% of the 2019-2020 roster. Women's track & field, men's track & field and volleyball also boasted more than 80% of their roster with at least a 3.30 GPA.
