LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team jumped back into Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday night hosting Lindenwood University. The Cardinals fell in straight sets to the Lions to drop to 7-15 on the season, 1-9 in the GLVC. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• With Jewell trailing by just one early in the opening set, Lindenwood went on a 14-7 run to open up a seven point advantage. The Cardinals were able to bring it back to 23-17 after a kill by Anna Godfredsen but the Lions scored the final two points to take set one 25-17. 
• Lindenwood grabbed an early lead in set two, leading by as many as 10. A service error and back-to-back kills by Bella LaPorta stopped the bleeding but the Lions benefitted from three straight kills to take a 2-0 set lead. 
• The Cardinals held the lead for much of set three but a 9-2 run by Lindenwood put the Lions back in front 23-20. The teams split the final four points, giving LU the 25-22 win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• LaPorta was tops on the team with nine kill to go with 11 digs and two assists. 
• Hannah Cope finished with 25 assists and 11 digs while Jordan Collard also added 11 digs.
