SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team rallied in set three but came up short, falling 3-0 at Drury University on Friday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tied at eight early in the opener, the Panthers went on a 10-5 run to go on top 18-13. Jewell rallied, scoring four straight behind Haidan Baade's serve to pull within one, 21-20 but Drury scored four of the final five win win 25-21. 
• The Panthers burst out to a 20-12 lead in set two before Jewell put together a string of points with kills from Lily Johnson and Katy Garrison to get back within 22-16, but Drury finished off the set with a kill from Gabriela Oliveria. 
• Set three was a battle as the Panthers again took an early lead, 17-12 only to see the Cardinals rally. Jewell went on a 7-1 run led by two kills and a block from Anna Godfredsen to take a 19-18 lead. The teams traded points and were tied again at 24 but back-to-back kills by the Panthers ended the set 26-24. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Lily Johnson and Tatum Ernt led Jewell with 10 kills each while adding seven combined blocks. 
• Jordan Collard finished with a match-high 20 digs with Bella LaPorta adding 14. 
• Harper Auman finished with a double-double of 18 assists and 10 digs.

Jewell will wrap up the 2021 season on Saturday with a 3 p.m. match at Southwest Baptist.
