LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team dropped a three set match to No. 10 Drury University on Friday night in the Mabee Center to fall to 0-5 on the season, 0-4 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things started slowly for the Cardinals as they fell into an early 21-5 hole after a 10-0 run by the Panthers. Anna Godfredsen put down a kill to end the skid followed by an ace from Jorey Luebbert but Drury cruised to the set victory, 25-11.
- Trailing by one, Drury went on a 9-1 run to break out to a 15-8 lead in set two. Jewell got four kills from Paityn Hardison to pull within two late, but Drury's Claire Taylor finished things off for the Panthers, 25-22.
- Jewell grabbed momentum in set three, jumping out to a 19-15 lead four kills each from Godfredsen and Hardison. The Panthers rallied however, eventually tying the set at 23 and scoring seven of the final eight points to take the set, 25-22 and the match, 3-0.

- Drury hit .329 as a team, led by Tayte Kozlowski's 10 kills on 18 attempts.
- Taylor handed out 14 assists to go along with nine kills while Chloe Rear had 13 and eight respectively.
- Kayla Allison posted a game-high 13 digs.

Jewell is off until next Saturday when they travel to Lebanon, Illinois, for a tri-match with Quincy and the host McKendree Bearcats.
