HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Neither team could take more than a three point lead through the first half of the opening 20 minutes. After a layup by Mason Alexander, Truman outscored the Cardinals 13-7 over the next six minutes to pull ahead by eight. Truman got a bucket from Alex McQuinn with five seconds on the clock to take a 37-36 lead into the half.
  • Truman came out of the locker room on fire, pushing their one point lead to 14, 54-40, over the first five minutes of the second half. The Bulldogs maintained a double-digit lead for several minutes before back-to-back triples by Jordan Jermain tied things up at 64-all. The Bulldogs outscored Jewell 12-6 over the final minutes to escape with the six-point win.
