UIndy Evens Season Series with Late Free Throws

LIBERTY, Mo. - The two meetings between William Jewell and Indianapolis have been decided by just four combined points. In the rematch on Saturday, UIndy got the 68-65 win, to even the season series and drop the Cardinals to 3-13 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Greyhounds jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first four minutes before two three pointers from Mason Alexander and Jordan Jermain brought Jewell back within two. UIndy pushed their lead up to 12 with just over three minutes to play in the opening half but again the Cardinals hit clutch threes, two from Alexander and one by Trey Shannon, to make it a one point game at the break, 35-34.
  • It was the Cardinals who came out hot in the second half with a 9-0 run to go on top by eight. A 20-8 UIndy run put them back in front but the Cardinals weren't done yet, as a Robbie Hanson hit a three with 2:15 remaining to tie the game at 61. After the Greyhounds grabbed a three point lead Jermain was fouled, with 2.5 seconds remaining, and put on the line for three but missed the final attempt after which UIndy connected on two of their own to bring the score the final.

FOR THE CARDINALS
  • Alexander led the Cardinals with 18 points, on 4-of-10 from three. Grant Stubbs added 16 points, seven rebounds and steals steals. Jermain chipped in 11 points and five assists.
  • The Cardinals posted 17 assists, led by six from Eysan Wiley

FOR THE GREYHOUNDS
  • Kendrick Tchoua paced UIndy with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Dee Montgomery added 18 points while Jesse Bingham had 12 boards.
