LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell softball team is headed back on out on the road this weekend as they travel to Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday followed by a stop at McKendree on Sunday.

CARDINAL NOTES
- Jewell has come on strong at the start of GLVC play, beginning the conference schedule at 4-4, to enter the week in ninth place in the GLVC. The top eight teams will advance to the postseason tournament.
- Allison Rawls continues to be the catalyst for the Cardinal offense, batting .396 with 11 RBI and 11 runs. Her 33 total bases are fourth in the GLVC.
- Sabrina Olmo had a big week, batting .391 in the three GLVC doubleheaders against Missouri S&T, Lindenwood and Maryville. The freshman scored three runs and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to sweep Lindenwood. On the season, she is hitting .333 with 21 hits and a team-high seven stolen bases.
- In the circle, Aly Manhart has been superb over the last week, throwing 24 innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out 15 and earning wins over Lindenwood and Maryville. On the season, the junior is 2-5 with a 5.07 ERA over 38.2 innings.
- Sammie Welt was also strong in the circle last weekend, as the freshman earned her first career save at S&T followed by her first win over Lindenwood with a four inning, eight strikeout relief performance.
ABOUT MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS
- UMSL enters the week at 8-14 overall and 3-5 in GLVC play and has dropped three of their last four.
- As a team, the Tritons are last in the GLVC with a .211 batting average but fifth with an ERA of 3.06. Annie Scaramuzzi leads the offense with a .313 average and a team-high 10 runs. Morgan Barnoski follows close behind at .304 with a team-best 21 hits and 11 RBI.
- Mimi Bradley and Jenna Towle have combined for 17 starts in 22 games for the Tritons and own all eight wins. The duo has struck out 76 batters over 107.2 innings of work.
- Amanda Scott is in her fifth season at the helm of the UMSL program and is the 2019 GLVC Coach of the Year. The former four-time All-American at Fresno State owns 132 as a collegiate head coach.
ABOUT McKENDREE
- McKendree is 6-6 on the season and 5-3 in GLVC action entering this weekend after winning three straight over UIS and Quincy last week.
- Caitlyn Lowry leads the team with a .324 average on a team-high 12 hits and nine runs.
- Jenny Homann has a .278 average with 10 hits, as five have gone for extra bases while driving in nine.
- Ellie Quaethem has been the top arm thus far for the Bearcats as the freshman has an ERA of 3.81 with 24 strikeouts. Miranda Gajewski, the former GLVC Freshman of the Year, now a junior has a team-best 4-2 record with 25 strikeouts of 31.1 innings.
- The Bearcats are coached by two former University of Missouri All-Americans in head coach Ashley Fleming, now in her sixth season, along with assistant coach Chelsea Thomas.
