KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Rockhurst on Friday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals opened the match in a 9-0 hole, forcing an early timeout from Carolyn Raynes. Jewell responded with 9-2 run to pull within two after a kill by Maddie Wingert. The Hawks regained a seven-point advantage late in the set on their way to the 25-19 win.
• Both teams traded points for much of the second until Rockhurst went on a 6-2 run to open up their largest advantage of the set at 22-18 before scoring three of the final five points. 
• Jewell gained an early 3-1 advantage, thanks to a Katie Paine service ace but the Hawks rallied, outscoring the Cards 20-11 to open up a seven point lead. Jewell got back within six after an Elizabeth Quinn kill but could get no closer. 

FOR THE CARDINALS

• Wingert led the Cardinals with eight kills on a .217 attack percentage. 
• Hannah Cope finished with 17 assists while Haidan Baade posted a match-high 17 digs. 
• Luebbert had a team-leading four blocks. 

FOR THE HAWKS

• Audrey Arand had a match-high 11 kills to go along with 10 digs.
• Dani Prusha handed out 20 assists.
