LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball used a late game rally in game two to earn a 6-5 win and split a doubleheader with Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon at Talley Stadium. The Miners took game one by a final of 10-4.
GAME ONE
Jewell 4, Missouri S&T 10
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Missouri S&T broke the scoreless tie in the top of the third, scoring five runs on five hits before adding an additional score in the fourth. 
 
	- In the bottom of the fourth, Jade Smoot walked and scored on a single through the right side from Nick Modrcin to put Jewell on the board. 
 
	- The Cardinals added two in the fifth on an RBI double by Anthony Hansen and a base hit by Smoot to cut the deficit in half, 6-3. 
 
	- The Miners plated four runs on three hits in the seventh to extend their lead. 
 
	- Hansen brought the score to the final with a solo home run in the home half of the final inning.  
 
FOR THE CARDINALS
	- Hansen finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. 
 
	- Jake Wilcox added a team-high three hits while Smoot had two hits and drew two walks. 
 
	- Nyk Yaquab (2-4) took the loss, allowing three earned on four hits. 
 
 
GAME TWO
Jewell 6, Missouri S&T 5
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Jewell got on the board first in game two as Ryan Dickerson scored on a sac fly by Hansen. 
 
	- Missouri S&T responded with five runs on five hits in the fourth frame. 
 
	- Alex Epp led off the fifth inning with a solo home run over the right field wall to cut the Miner lead to three. Cole Conner cut it to two with an RBI single up the middle, scoring Hansen in the sixth. 
 
	- Cut to the seventh, down to their final three outs, the Cardinals rallied. Epp led off with a single, followed by a walk to Drew Reed and a Dickerson single to load the bases with no outs. Wilcox singled up the middle to tie the game at five. Conner was intentionally walked for Smoot who put a single to right center, allowing Jack Lortz to score and give Jewell the win. 
 
FOR THE CARDINALS
	- Wilcox again led Jewell with three hits while adding two RBI. 
 
	- Epp finished with two hits while scoring two runs. Dickerson also had two base knocks. 
 
	- Reed Pegram (3-1) earned the win in relief, coming on in the seventh inning to strand two runners.
